This Privacy Policy describes how Kareem Elsamadicy ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and handles information in connection with Fragments ("the Service"). We built Fragments to protect writers, and that commitment extends to how we handle your data.
1. What We Collect
Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and any profile information you provide through Clerk (our authentication provider).
Writing submissions: Text you submit for transformation is transmitted to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the output you requested. This text is processed in real time and is not stored permanently on our servers in this beta period.
Usage data: We collect aggregate usage metrics (number of submissions, account creation date) to operate the Service and enforce access limits. This data is stored in our database (Supabase) linked to your account.
Billing data: If you subscribe, your payment information is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or payment credentials. We receive and store a Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely to: (a) deliver and operate the Service; (b) enforce access and subscription limits; (c) communicate with you about your account or subscription; and (d) improve the Service. We do not sell your data, share it for advertising purposes, or use your writing for AI training.
3. Third-Party Services
Fragments uses the following third-party services to operate:
— Anthropic (Claude API): Your writing submissions are sent to Anthropic to generate transformations. Anthropic's privacy practices are governed by their own policies. — Clerk: Handles authentication and account management. See Clerk's privacy policy. — Supabase: Stores account data, subscription status, and usage metrics. See Supabase's privacy policy. — Stripe: Processes payments and manages subscriptions. See Stripe's privacy policy.
We do not share your data with any other third parties.
4. Data Retention
In the current beta, writing you submit for transformation is not stored permanently on our servers. Your account information and subscription status are retained for the lifetime of your account. If you delete your account, we will delete your account data from our systems within 30 days, subject to legal obligations.
5. Cookies
The Service uses session cookies set by Clerk to maintain your authenticated session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at support.fragments@gmail.com. You may also delete your account at any time from the account settings page.
7. Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data. No security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted over the internet.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. The date of the most recent revision appears at the top of this page.
